| And the Fields | For the traditional woodwind quintet. This eerie piece is based on an award winning poem by Craig Murray. The music however is anything but traditional. There are haunting melodies and many interesting motifs. Grade 3+. | Woodwind Quintet | |
| Out from the Dark | This piece is a rush of emotions. There are places that you will hear gunfire, screaming, and raw emotion that you might not have ever felt before. Grade 4+ | Bb Clarinet, Piano, and Cello | |

Forbidden Planet |
This is a series of pieces that I wrote for my masters project at
CSU Chico. My task, as my culminating event, was to rewrite the
score for selected scenes from the classic sci-fi movie Forbidden
Planet. The five movements are: 1. The Monster, 2. Cook's
Theme, 3. Tension One Theme, 4. Morbius' Theme and the 5th movement
is a cello solo based on Morbius' Theme. There are traditional and non-traditional instruments used throughout this piece. Grade 4+ |

Cost of Freedom |
The Tilt Contemporary Dance Company commissioned me to write music for a Vietnam veterans memorial show. I spoke with Renee Beauvais, the director, about the show and explained my reasoning for wanting rock pieces in the program. She agreed. I wrote three pieces for the show. The guys in Crash The Machine and I came up with three songs that fit the bill. Giving a total of six pieces for the show. The songs that are available here are: 1. In Country, 2. In the Field, and 3. New Day. Grade 4 |

| Generic Flute Suite | This is a very avant-garde piece with 7 movements. It is for solo flute. Grade 4+ | Solo Flute | |
| The Frolic | Ken Carter, director of instrumental music, at Nevada Union High School commissioned this piece for his Wind Ensemble. It has three movements. They are: 1. Fanfare and Misgivings, 2. The Calm, and 3. Swirl. It moves about recklessly and gives your audience something new to listen to. There are directions for seating changes in the third movement. You need to have a very large percussion section (9 to 15 pieces) to do this piece. Grade 3+ | Wind Ensemble | |
| No Wakening | This piece is for a strong choir, a Greek chorus, and backing instruments (flute, violin, viola, cell, & contra bass). There is heckling from the side, a blistering flute and violin part and best of all it is twisted. Anything else from a piece based on EA Poe? No. Not here. Grade 3+ | Chorus/Ensemble | |

Send in the Clowns |
(SSAATTBB
and
soloists) This chart is a beautiful piece with all new harmonization's. There is a sweet "C" section featuring the whole group. The solo's are comprised of a nice long solo for a lady and a short solo for a man. There are points where there are 8 part harmony with a soloist. Grade 3+ Ballad |
Vocal Jazz | |
| 5:02 Blues |
(SAATB) A great chart that was remade for vocal jazz. The concept was to make it a "time" thing. Hence the lyrical content. The lyrics were written by Craig Murray and edited by Bob Zaun. Grade 2+ Medium Swing |
Vocal Jazz | |
| Soft Winds |
(SSAATB) A nice Swing feel throughout the piece. The soli section is all Bop. It cooks and then it swings. Wonderful feeling. Lyrics by Craig Murray and edited by Bob Zaun. Grade 2 Medium Swing |

| Polkadots and Moonbeams |
(SATB), Alto Sax
and Lady Soloist) A brand new look, and feel, for the time honored favorite. It swings hard and slow then moves right up to a nice medium bounce feel. It has a sax solo and a lady vocalist solo. There are some wonderful new sounds for this standard. Grade 1+ (optional ending = 2+) Slow Swing |

| Nightingale Sang |
(Big Band
- Tenor
Soloist) Here is a reharm of the great tune that was made famous, in recent times, by the Manhattan Transfer. All that you knew about this piece is gone. The melody is all that remains. Some very aggressive harmonies and movements through out this piece. It groves nice and slow until the open solo section and then it really cooks. Grade 2+ Ballad |

All Along |
(Big
Band) This is a new composition. Kerry Marsh and I worked on this for quite awhile. I would have to say that equal billing goes on this piece. It is for the big band in the vein of the UNT 1:00 band. Very Maria Schneiderish. Wonderful bass line to start things out, a flowing combo section, a rockin' middle section and then the out. Grade 3+ Hard Swing |

Stay Awake |
(SATB) Here is a nice reharm of the wonderful ballad from the musical Mary Poppins. It moves through different feelings as you go about the piece. You will indeed Stay Awake, and then sigh at the end. Grade 2+ Ballad |

When I fall in Love |
(SAB) This wonderful traditional ballad has undergone a nearly complete reharm. If you have soloists that are always fighting over who gets the solo, then this piece is for you. I arranged this piece for my newly formed vocal jazz ensemble for just this reason. There are five places to have a different soloist, if you choose, or one soloist ... Well you get the idea. There are some wonderful new harmonies that are employed. Grade 1+ Ballad |

St. Thomas |
(SATB) This is so much fun. Your students will love this chart when they are finished learning it. It has a great Carribean feel. Make sure that your percussionists are up to the task. Grade 2+ Caribbean/Latin |

What A Wonderful World |
(Soloist,
SATB, Vocal
Percussionist) This arrangement takes you to a new place with the timeless song What A Wonderful World. With plenty of emotion and a beautiful solo this piece will surely add color to your set. There is vocal percussion throughout the piece...slow and ponderous at the beginning then "rock-ish" in the middle and then back to the thought evoking slow swing sound at the end. Grade 2+ Ballad |

Hush-A-Bye Mountain |
(SATB) This arrangement of the wonderful ballad from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has a minor bend to it. With plenty of emotion and a beautiful solo this piece will surely add color to your set. There is vocal percussion throughout the piece...slow and ponderous at the beginning then "rock-ish" in the middle and then back to the thought evoking slow swing sound at the end. Grade 2+ Ballad |

Goodbye My Friend |
(Soloist,
SSAA, Vocal
Percussion) One of the Spice Girls' best tunes, in my opinion. This arrangement ads jazz harmonies and rhythms to a beautiful ballad. If you have the nerve to sing this at graduation there will not be a dry eye in the house. Make sure that your vocal percussionist is up to speed. Grade 2+ Rock Ballad/Slow Groove |

Come Sunday |
(Soloist, SATB) This is an amazing tune by the Late, Great Duke Ellington. It has new harmonies and shares a great deal of the feelings from the original with your audiences. Good for a church service, fall concert or a festival. |
